Pia Antonetti
After leaving Ann Arbor in 1985, Pia developed her tutoring and portfolio review services – mostly for Clonlara families. She participated in local home schooling groups with her own two children until 1990, when she was hired by Spring Garden Waldorf School in Copley, OH. The lead teacher in an early childhood classroom, Pia also served on the personnel and conflict management committees. In 1996, she moved to Illinois and resumed her work with Clonlara’s home schooling families as an off-site advisor. She maintained connections with the Waldorf community by teaching parent-child classes, and as the founding teacher of Water's Edge Waldorf School in Wauconda, IL. She once again helped families obtain their education of choice. Pia has 26 years of teaching experience in private schools, 25 years of service to home educators, and 24 years of being a mother! As a teacher, she has specialized in curriculum & policy development, patience & joy in learning, and parent education. As a parent, she has tried it all - public, private, parochial, and home schooling. Her post-graduate studies include alternative, early childhood, remedial, secondary, and waldorf education. In her not-so-spare time, she enjoys baking, gardening, felting & puppet-making, reading, writing, singing, hiking & biking, studying brain integration techniques, spoiling the dog, and helping her husband with remodeling projects. She also loves to do research on the computer, and if there is something you need, she can probably find it – despite only having internet access through dial-up. Her motto: where there’s a will, there’s a way. |
