We Honor the Whole Child
We believe that a child's unique interests, talents, learning styles and goals should guide his or her education. Every aspect of growth — physical, spiritual, mental and psychological — deserves attention.
We Empower Students and Encourage Independence
Our students take charge of their education. By design, Clonlara does not have a preset curriculum. Instead, our students have flexibility and freedom to choose HOW they learn — so it fits them. They are not locked into a specific textbook or online course.
We Trust and Support Parents & Students
Parents and students document their educational activities, choose methods of evaluating their progress and measuring progress made. They submit progress reports (at the elementary level) or credit request forms (at the high school level) for Advisors and the Registrar to review and approve.
We Help Navigate the Educational Process
Clonlara Advisors [1] work closely with students and parents to help design an educational plan to fit unique needs. We collaborate together on choosing subjects to be learned, ways to approach learning, educational materials, resources to use, and more. This takes time, patience, and dedication — but the results are well worth it!
We are Welcoming & Inclusive
We serve families of all kinds who choose to homeschool in all sorts of ways for many different reasons. We embrace your family's decisions and partner with you on this journey.
We Maintain Official Records and Award Diplomas
Clonlara provides official documentation of student records, report cards and transcripts to other schools, colleges and employers. High School students who meet our graduation requirements [2] earn an accredited diploma.
We're a Non-Profit with More Than 40 Years of Experience
Over 40,000 students have benefited from Clonlara's Home Based Education Program. Clonlara School was founded in 1967 by Pat Montgomery, PhD, a recognized leader and advocate for alternative and home education.
