Instructional Approach

Education2020 (E2020) offers some of the most engaging and individualized web-based instruction of any virtual school solution available today. It combines best-practice pedagogy with next-gen technology that provides an opportunity for students to set their own schedules, learn at their own pace and make meaningful academic gains.

The courseware is aligned to state and national standards and has helped students earn and recover credits for graduation and prepare for state, end-of-course and key standardized tests since 1998.

NOTE:  E2020 courses are accessed through the Internet. They may include online activities that allow the student to link to websites that are outside the E2020 and Clonlara School domains.  E2020 trusts these websites and believes that the content is both appropriate and educational.

Cost - $200 per course; plus $150 annual set up fee

Course access is available during the school year from September until June.

Refund Policy

Within 14 days of login assignment, students have the option to (1) change a course at no charge or (2) receive a full refund of course costs and the annual administrative fee less a $25 processing fee. After 14 days of login assignment, refunds are not given.

Written notice must be sent to Clonlara School’s Registrar to cancel or change courses.

Course Credits - High School Only

Courses cover between 0.5 and 1.0 credit each. One credit courses may be taken for less than the full credit, if only a portion of the course is desired or completed.  Students must inform the Registrar’s Office once they have completed the course in order for credits to be applied to their Clonlara transcript before July 15, 2011.

Grades

Grades are determined by the amount of the course completed by the student and the “Actual Grade” function of the E2020 program. Students have constant access to their grade information and parents receive regular progress reports.

If a change in the amount of credit earned occurs, the Actual Grade may be adjusted (e.g., if a student does not complete the amount of course credit as originally intended). The Registrar’s office will guide you through this process.

Instructional Policy

E2020 is a teaching tool unto itself. Clonlara’s price allows for access to online courses, but does not cover further direct instruction or content help outside of the program’s guidance.  For additional subject content assistance, students may wish to enlist the help of a tutor. E2020 courses generally require at least five (5) hours of study per course, per week.  Please be prepared for such a time commitment.  Students are responsible for setting a schedule to work on their courses daily.

The E2020 program and courses are designed for schools to enhance their curriculum. Most schools use these courses in conjunction with their classrooms.  You will note that E2020 mentions a teacher in their guides and online courses.  These communications are not available through the Clonlara program because there is no system function that allows Clonlara to give parent access to E2020; access is given only to the student.
