Calling all educators in the Washtenaw County area! Whether you work with college students, preschoolers, or anyone in between, this group could be for you. Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a communication method that helps facilitate and engage students’ intrinsic motivation to elicit behavior change by helping them to explore and resolve ambivalence about their lives.
We will review the basics of MI, talk about when it might be appropriate, and begin to learn how to use it. This method is great for helping students sort out why they might want to make healthy changes and think about what their plan of action might be.
If you are just starting out with MI or want some more practice with it, we hope you will join us. The group will meet on the first Tuesday of the month from 6:30 to 8:00 pm at Clonlara School (1289 Jewett Ave, Ann Arbor, MI 48104). Come in through the front door and look for the signs.
