We believe that a child's unique interests, talents, learning styles and goals should guide his or her education. Every aspect of growth - physical, spiritual, mental and psychological - deserves attention.
Our students take charge of their education. By design, Clonlara does not have a preset curriculum. Instead, our students have flexibility and freedom to choose HOW they learn - so it fits them. They are not locked into a specific textbook or online course.
Clonlara teachers and advisors work closely with students and parents to help design an educational plan to fit unique needs. We collaborate together on ways to approach learning, educational materials, resources to use, and more. This takes time, patience, and dedication - but the results are well worth it!
Small class size. Friendly, inclusive environment. Vibrant and flexible multi-age learning community. Quality of staff time and attention. Frequent field trips. Holistic approach to education: We do not limit our attention and instruction only to academic needs. We accommodate many varieties of learning and are particularly adept with a hands-on approach.
We serve students and families of all kinds who choose alternative education for many different reasons. We embrace your family's decisions and partner with you on this journey.
Clonlara provides official documentation of student records, report cards and transcripts to other schools, colleges and employers. High School students who meet our graduation requirements earn a private school diploma.
Over 40,000 students have benefited from Clonlara's various educational Programs. Clonlara School was founded in 1967 by Pat Montgomery, PhD, a recognized leader and advocate for alternative and home education.
